Sports Cross Training
US CrossFit offers focused Cross Training for sports teams and individuals. We have experience training Volleyball, Soccer, Baseball, Football and multi-sport athletes.
Training is conducted on the field, at a secondary outdoor location like the beach or park, and at our US
CrossFit facility in downtown Encinitas
Training is typically comprised of 1 1-1.5 hour session per week, for a 12 – 16 week period. We will work with the team coach to determine the exact length and periodicity of the schedule.
The training includes Functional Exercises from CrossFit, Plyometrics, Tabada, Speed and Agility work, flexibility and focus work from Yoga and the Martial Arts, and cross-interval training.
We specialize in training athletic performance outside of the very narrow zone of fitness skills that individual sports typically focus on. This “broad, general and inclusive” fitness helps the athlete perform much better as a “wholly fit” athlete, rather than a narrowly-fit athlete.
Our Athletic Performance training is scaled and adapted depending upon the age-group addressed. For youth athletes (up to age 14) our training is fun and focused on skills development rather than power and strength using heavier loads. Load is added as the athlete matures and develops the physiological capacity to handle the load stress.
